Bored as hell in suburban Minnesota.

Really long day
My day started with a call from work at 8:50AM, about 10 minutes before I usually get up.  They wanted to know if I could come in early.  I figured if they were willing to pay me overtime, the shit must have really hit the fan.  I scarfed a quick breakfast, got showered and dressed, got clocked in at 9:40.  At work I found out that the other rx tech and our part-time helper had both called in sick, and we had a non-Snyders substitute pharmacist (we were supposed to have one from within the company).  There was a huge back-log of refills (30+) and at least a half-dozen new prescriptions waiting for me.  We were lucky and didn't have much traffic coming into the store, so we actually got caught up in 2 or 3 hours.  About half-way through, the floater pharmacist that opened in the morning left and we got a Snyders floater.  There were the occasional problems and it was reasonabley busy.  Things went pretty smoothly, though, til right before closing time.  At some point, the pharmacist asked me if I knew how to do all the closing duties, because she didn't.  I said that I did, and that it wouldn't be any problem closing up.  So, first end of night mishap.  Someone came in to pick their prescriptions up just a couple minutes before we were supposed to close.  Two of them were for her son, but her son had never gotten prescriptions at our pharmacy and wasn't in our computer system.  The pharmacist accidently filled those prescriptions under his mom's name.  We had to set up a new profile for the kid and get the prescriptions fixed (which the pharmacist did in a more complicated and time-consuming manner than necessary).  Anyway, by the time we got them sorted out and out of there, it was 7:15.  We're supposed to close at 7.  Right after we finished with that first problem, someone came in looking for a prescription that was supposed to have been called in by their doctor.  It hadn't been, and in fact, they had called not that long ago and I'd told them as much.  Apparently the dumbass doctor had called them at 6:30 and told them that he was faxing it to us right away.  We never got the fax.  Now we were supposed to be closed a long time ago, and it's this person's fault for waiting so late to get this stuff and the dumb doctor's for not getting it done.  I personally did not have much sympathy for this customer.  I'd been there since 9:40, I wanted to go home.  Then the pharmacist tells him that we'll call the doctor and get it filled for him!  Now if this were her own store or her own time, that would be one thing, but it wasn't.  At one point she told me I could go if I wanted, but I couldn't because she didn't know how to close up!  Long story short, I didn't get out of there til after 7:30.  On the way home, my dad bought Jimmy Johns sandwiches for dinner, which was nice and did me some good.  I hadn't eaten since noon.  After we got home, my dad fell down the stairs and gave me a really bad scare.  I'm just really burned out.  Added to that, I'm feeling really depressed about my life tonight.  Feels like I'm going nowhere and haven't accomplished anything.  It feels like almost all I do is work.  I dould really use a vacation, or even just someone to comfort me some... a hug, a shoulder to lean on, someone to curl up next to at night, but none of that's happening.   I'm worrying about tomorrow too, that I might get called in early again.  It's inventory day, and they're starting at 6AM.
