Bored as hell in suburban Minnesota.
Weekend update thingie
Well, the class was a waste of time and the test was really easy. At least I get a $0.50 raise out of it. I went and saw King Kong with a friend on Saturady. It wasn't bad, but the quality of the CG varied greatly. There were some shots where it was gorgeous and others where it looked horribly fake. Andy Serkis was pretty good in the two roles he played, the cook and Kong. The captain was played by an actor I like quite a bit (Thomas Kretschmann), he was the lead character in Stalingrad, one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen, but also one of my favorites. There were some lines that really would have been better left out, like Jack Black's line at the end of the movie. Ann's (Naomi Watt's) manner of speech, especially toward the beginning of the movie, also really bothered me, but I can't tell you why for sure. On Sunday, I visited the neighbor's kid that's in the hospital for his 20th birthday (he has leukemia). He wasn't having a very good time of it, he'd had a major scare that morning when we accidently tore out a pick when he was getting up to go to the bathroom. I guess he was pretty out of it, and he bled a lot. He looked like he was doing better when we saw him though. Later, in the evening, I went to a family gathering for the birthdays of my mom, grandma, and great uncle. My allergies were actually better than usual (they have two cats and a dog, and I'm allergic to both dog and cat dander, but especially dog), and I got to talk to one of my uncles about working in pharmacies at hospitals.
